Lottery Licensing Regulations
EngageNL has issued this notice:
"Digital Government and Service NL (DGSNL) is looking for feedback on possible changes to the Lottery Licensing Regulations, which regulate charitable gaming in Newfoundland and Labrador. These types of lotteries include bingo, ticket sales, games of chance, sports lotteries, break-open lotteries and Monte Carlo lotteries that are for charitable or religious purposes.
While we recognize that municipalities are not eligible for a charitable lottery license, there are organizations within the community that have done so. To assist in providing all organizations, and community members, an opportunity to participate in the consultations, we are asking municipalities to post a link to the questionnaire on their website."
Please click the link below to complete the questionnaire by December 10, 2021, to provide input for consultations.

"Still Standing" with Jonny Harris
In the Autumn of 2018, actor and comedian Jonny Harris and the crew of his CBC television show “Still Standing” came to Fortune to shoot an episode about it.
The show features Mr. Harris travelling to towns all over Canada that have been through a lot of hardships, but they keep moving forward. Mr. Harris talks with the citizens to hear the struggles their towns have overcome to keep hanging on, and he caps it off with a stand-up comedy act in front of a large map of Canada where he praises the towns and their people.
The episode aired on CBC on October 21. Here is a link to the episode on the CBC website.
