MEET GLEN

PROVEN LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

PROFILE:

 

Glen graduated from Cabot Collegiate High School in Bonavista in 1980. He completed courses in Electrical and Carpentry at College of the North Atlantic. Glen also completed leadership training and occupational health and safety courses. He completed numerous university courses and has a diploma in Human Resources and Labour Relations.

 

As a community-minded person, Glen had been actively involved in community council with the Town of Bonavista for 14 years, volunteered on numerous committees and organizations, was a member of 1997 Cabot Celebrations Committee, and was chairperson of the management team for the Town of Bonavista negotiations. He was appointed as a member of the Discovery Regional Development Board. He was a fisheries committee member of Council and is still a strong advocate on fishery related issues. He served as chairperson on Public Works, Finance and Beautification committees.

 

Glen dedicated 26 years working in the Public Health Care Sector. He was Chairperson of the Bonavista and Area Dialysis Committee. Glen presented a document on Health Care to the Royal Commission on our place in Canada. As chairperson of the Health Care Committee of Bonavista Town Council, he submitted a report for the future new bungalow style dementia unit. For 16 years, Glen was NAPE local President of Golden Heights Manor. He also held office of NAPE Provincial Board and Executive.

 

Glen was elected as MHA for the District of Bonavista South in the October 11, 2011 general election.

 

Glen currently resides in Bonavista, NL with his wife Gladys. They have two children and one grandson.

 

On October 9, 2013, Glen was appointed Progressive Conservative Caucus Whip in the House of Assembly. October 17, 2014 Glen was appointed Progressive Conservative Caucus Chairperson.
